“We cannot speak highly enough of Rachel at the copy.house. Her professionalism and exacting standards shine through, even when faced with the tightest of deadlines. From highly technical documents to projects demanding creative flair she never fails to deliver.” Louise Kay, JDK Design.
I was asked by Penny Wilson to write engaging, marketing-led copy for her new website, showcasing striking designs that illustrate sharp, insightful interpretations of clients’ brand-direction and brief. Copy needed to be personal, design-savvy and for an industry-aware client as well as for all other enquirers. I worked closely with Penny on the personality of the copy as well as on the fit with the new website design.
I was asked by Cultrix to develop a lively, friendly, professional IT support brand and tone of voice for their new website and other marketing materials, encompassing printed media, system-generated emails and blog posts. Working extensively on all aspects of communications to ensure brand consistency with discussion of the customer-centred aspect we wished to achieve, the IT superhero was born!
“We’re serious about how technology can transform businesses for the better, but it can be a dull and complicated subject. Rachel makes us look like a fun and interesting IT business to work with (which is true!). She makes us come across approachable in a world littered with technical jargon and cyber nasties. Hand over your nagging doubts of copywriting inadequacy to Rachel and put the grammar and spelling police out of business today.” Shaun Wilders, Managing Director of Cultrix

Working closely with Olly Kinsey from AB Sustain and Adrian Blackham of Cultrix Digital, I developed brand-led copy and a corporate tone of voice guideline document from supplied branding profiles and images. A cross-sector, global business, AB Sustain’s description of product offer was developed through the copywriting process so that clear, concise copy could feature to the satisfaction of all stakeholders as well as conforming to design constraints.
SAFE Ireland is a national social change agency which collaborates with frontline domestic violence services across Ireland, and provides evidence-based guidance to government, informing the development of policy and legislation. Having worked with SAFE Ireland over the years to edit and proof annual census reports, and research pieces, I was asked to bring the draft of an important item of research to publishing standard, including advising on content structure and closing address. I worked closely with SAFE Ireland researchers, contributors and designer to achieve a final cohesive, compelling text.
